MIKI'S ZINE
the catalogue
every issue in order · front page first, oldest on the leftthe catalogue is the whole shelf in order — one card per issue, nothing hidden behind a mosaic. every issue is a web page and every issue prints the same way: open it, press print, fold it down the middle, staple twice. issue no. 1 also exists in two editions: the violet café flip book and the hologram edition. the back issues are at /MIKI/ZINE/01/, /MIKI/ZINE/02/ and /MIKI/ZINE/03/; no. 4 is with the printer.
the press
how you actually get one · all three ways are freemiki leaves a stack by the register, hand-numbered and stapled, and refills it when she remembers. if the stack is empty, ask — she usually has more in the library.
every issue is a web page, built to print. open the issue, hit the print button, fold it down the middle, staple it twice. that is the whole production budget.
the vendi machine always keeps one zine in the glass, no matter what else it's been asked for. slot it and it hands you a copy for nothing.
the honest bit
the zine is free.
the press isn't.
fifty copies is the smallest run the printer will do, and miki pays for the whole thing up front — the paper, the cover stock, the binding, the staples — and then gives every single one away. nobody has ever been charged for an issue and nobody ever will be.
so if you want to keep the rack full: the same fund that holds the realm open pays the printer. a coffee on ko-fi buys ink and paper. a commission from the menu pays for a piece and puts your name in the back of the next issue. and the merch counter lives inside issue no. 2 — shirts, a notebook, a sheet of stickers — where the first drop is taken as early orders now and posted in the first weeks of december.
the realm's whole bill — the servers, the rooms, the music, the printer — is written out line by line, with nothing rounded off and nothing invented, on the support page. one goal at a time lives on ko-fi; the details live there. both point the same way.
